A study shows more than half a million people at risk of dementia in 2021. Tesco, the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland is the first institution to map out the level with dementia in the UK.
The institution plans to gather cost 5 million euros to help people with dementia in building a better future.
People with dementia is increasing due to low public awareness of the symptoms they had, and afraid to accept the fact if they are diagnosed with the disease.
As quoted from Femalefirst, early this March, The Tesco Charity announced it would fund new research to help those who live in these conditions. Dementia Community Roadshow around the UK to do outreach to raise awareness of this disease and encourage them not to worry to visit their doctor.
Fiona Phillips, journalist and ambassador to the Alzheimer's Society said that many people are struggling with this disease, but do not have access the help they need is decent.
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive, Alzheimer's Society added that six out of ten people who have this disease do not have access to assistance. "Funds collected from Tesco partnership will help us to help people affected by dementia," he said.
Yvonne Wilson's wife from Derek (78) who was diagnosed with the disease claiming worried about Derek memory with age. Initially, they were afraid to visit a doctor for a consultation. However, they kept trying and now Derek get better treatment. "He has to live independently and advice from a doctor is certainly very valuable," said Yvone.
"With the increasing population and high number of people who have no dementia diagnosis to detect them, we are working with Tesco, the Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland trying to help people by providing information about dementia," said Minister for Care Services, Paul Burstow.
